Pipeline cleaning should be undertaken on a regular basis depending upon the chemistry of the field, flow rate, wax pore point and pipeline temperature. The main purpose of this activity is to minimise the build up of wax and scale on the pipe wall in crude oil pipelines, to remove scale and liquids from gas pipelines in order to maintain optimum flow rates and maximize throughput whilst at the same time minimize deposition.
